13 days of Yule Day 13- Reflections and Pagan Insights Project

* In Your Own Words – your thoughts and feelings – maybe a full blog post on a topic of your choice related to your path (or Paganism in general) or just a few sentences on where you are right now. What are you studying? What are you thinking? Who are you, and where are you going on your Pagan path? What’s right and what’s wrong in Paganism at the moment?

Last night was relaxing, and quite nice, of course I would have preferred some company, especially to help eat the cupcakes, but it wasn’t bad and in fact was rather enjoyable.

I have had quite a fun time making crafts, and going through recipes, and I’m happy that the days are going to start getting longer again. My own “traditions” are coming along nicely, and will most certainly grow as I do.

I cannot say it was easy-going about without my two hell hounds but I do feel that they were with me, especially when I was busy making Doggy Biscuits, I even left them some as a gift.

I am being very lax with the Pagan Reading challenge lately, but I am currently reading A Magical Household and Goddess Afoot which my boyfriend bought for my birthday.

* Post A Pic – post an image related to your path, or one that invokes a feeling/emotion related to your spirituality (or craft… if one is a non-religious Witch), along with a sentence or two describing the image.

* Musical Musings – post a song, chant or poem related to your path, or one that invokes a feeling/emotion related to your spirituality (or craft). Can be in word form, but videos would definitely be awesome as well. On a spiritual level, what is your music of the moment? Is this a song stuck in your head, or one you played before your last ritual?

My embedding isn’t working so here are the lyrics:

Brother Wolf, Sister Moon- The Cult

“Embrace the wind with both arms
Stop the clouds dead in sky
Hang your head no more
And beg no more
Brother Wolf and Sister Moon
Your Time has come
Brother Wolf and Sister Moon
Your time has come and the wind will blow my fears away
And dry my tears away
And the wind will blow my fears away
And dry my tears away”

One of my all time favourite songs, from one of my favourite bands. I played this last night, It is incredibly beautiful, and Astbury’s voice always sends shivers down my spine. What evokes a sense of connection to the Earth more than calling the wolf and moon brother and sister? The song also captures my emotions over the last few days.

*Action, Action – post about a ritual, working or other experiential moment related to your path that has occurred recently, or that you are planning to do.

Well, since Yule has just passed, I will be concentrating more on my devotional work again. These big celebrations (or small, like mine) always leave me with a renewed sense of purpose, and give me the push I need to carry on working on my system.

Everything is a ritual to me, from getting out of bed and welcoming the light by opening the curtains, and making tea or food, and finally going off to sleep, magic is in every moment, and every moment is a ceremony, if it is done with purpose.

* Eureka! – post about something new that you have learned, or discovered recently, that is related to your path or Paganism in general.

Removing the physical muck can really help to put you in the frame of mind to reflect on yourself, I’ve always known this of course, but it is the first time that I’ve actually fully put it into action, where I’ve decided to take that step and allow myself to be critically looked at from a perspective outside of myself in order to make a positive change.
